The track "Resolving Conflicts" was written during the time our country had a government shut down. I felt very angry at our leadership and sad for the people who were going without food stamps and paychecks. Often times I see injustice in the world. I'm unsure how to respond so I turn to music. The track "Remade by Fire" is a personal story of how I would like to step outside of my comforts and purposely put myself in discomfort in order to be of service to others. Finally, "Rest, Let the Current Carry" was a song that came to me as I visited a Park in Wisconsin. It was a gentle reminder to me that I can't fix all the troubles in the world so I will have to at least try to rest and let go sometimes. A week after it was written, my daughter's close friend, Jenna Brovold, was shot a killed by her ex-boyfriend. In her honor, I will donate the proceeds from this album on bandcamp to New Beginnings of Walworth County, which offers support to people who have been affected by domestic violence. Thank you for your support!
